Overview

Spencer is a partner in the Real Estate and Environmental Law Group, as well as the Public and Municipal Law Group.

Spencer represents clients in a broad array of commercial real estate transactions. He negotiates leases on behalf of landlords and tenants across various asset classes, including industrial, retail, office, mixed-use, and life sciences. His practice includes commercial acquisitions, dispositions, financing, permitting, land use, and title matters. Spencer also advises clients on complex conservation and renewable energy issues.

  • Over the course of three years, represented a large national bank on a secondment basis, handling leasing matters across the bank’s real estate portfolio spanning several hundred properties
  • Represented national sports club and event operator in negotiating ground leases across several jurisdictions
  • Represented municipal client in two acquisition projects totaling over 200 acres of priority conservation land
  • Represented warehouse owner in negotiations of multiple leases and eventual sale of the property for $26.5MM
  • Represented packaging company in the development of an industrial subdivision in connection with initial $43MM construction financing
  • Represented multiple municipal clients in the disposition of top-priority properties, including through the negotiation of land development agreements and ground leases
  • Represented owner of industrial building in negotiation of lease with medical device manufacturer and eventual sale of the property for $17MM
  • Represented public and private sector clients in the negotiations of leases for battery energy storage systems and solar facilities, including rooftop, canopy, and ground-mount solar projects
  • Represented regional developers in acquisition, financing, permitting, and leasing of mixed-use developments
  • Represented senior living and healthcare organization in acquisition, financing, and development of several new campuses
