John R. Silva

Associate

Overview

John focuses his practice primarily on probate litigation. He provides legal representation in civil litigation, probate of estates, family law and real estate matters. He works closely with individuals, families and institutions to resolve issues and when litigation is necessary, to implement efficient and effective strategies.

John also focuses his practice on representing residential and commercial landlords in summary process (eviction) proceedings. Prior to joining Mirick, John represented a residential apartment complex in Middleboro consisting of 265 units. John has represented individuals and entities in over 150 eviction cases since 2018. Should the need to evict a tenant arise, John will assist you with navigating through the notoriously technical Housing Court process and will work with clients to regain possession of their house or apartment.

Before joining Mirick in the fall of 2024, John was previously with Daniel Walsh & Associates, P.C. in Plymouth and the Law Office of James W. Rosseel in Worcester. While in law school, John was an SJC Rule 3:03 Certified Student Attorney with the Suffolk Defenders Clinic. Before attending law school, John worked as an EMT/paramedic for ten years.
