Family Law Attorney Grace Roessler was quoted in a recent Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article, “Thorny issues test bar amidst rising tide of ‘gray’ divorces.”
“I have seen an uptick in the amount of people over 50 getting a divorce — and certainly in my own caseload,” Roessler said. “They’ve increased over the last 13 to 14 years, that’s for sure.”
In a gray divorce, there are unique factors that could bear on what a court deems to be an “equitable” division of marital assets, she added. Gray divorce demands that attorneys come up with solutions on issues ranging from retirement planning to ensuring the future care of adult children with special needs.
